09-13-11 Squat Chain Training

I am feeling so much stronger on the second round of this three week micro-cycle of training.  Even with 15lbs. of chains added to my original program weights.  I feel really good about tonight's workout as one that I will be able to look back on as the turning point to returning myself to proper form.

Squats + 15lbs. Chains
250 x 10, 290 x 8, 315 x 6
**Felt easy.  Nuff said!**

Good Mornings + 15lbs. Chains
3 sets of 8 @ 135

Single Leg Calf Raisers
3 sets of 20

Front Squats + 15lbs. Chains
4 sets of 5 @ 135

Forearm Curls
3 x 12

Ab Bench Crunches
3 x 50
**This is a commercial ab bench from a gym that went out of business...don't laugh!  I love this thing!**

CARDIO: 15 minute vigorous hike on treadmill.  I say vigorous or "Double Discovery Speed", because this is how fast I hike when I'm out with my kids and I see something on the horizon that I want to look at or show them.  Regular "Discovery Speed" would be when I am scanning the earth around us and slowly prodding along.

Workout Summary:
This was a game changer.  I worked hard and did not have any trouble handling the weights I set out  for myself in the program.  PLUS THERE WERE CHAINS!  I love it.  Not huge numbers but I know in time I will begin to get back to my former strength in a trimmer and healthier body.
